IMMIGRATION HELP - IMMIGRATION TO AMERICA USA
H1B Specialty Occupation
Professional workers with a least a bachelor's degree may apply for a
visa if the US employer can document that the worker will be paid at least
the prevailing wage for the position. In certain cases, documented work
experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

L1 Intracompany Transferees
The L1 visa is designed for intracompany transferees of managerial, executive,
or specialized knowledge for multinational companies doing business in
both the United States and abroad.

TN Treaty NAFTA Professionals
Certain Canadian and Mexican professionals are eligible to obtain one
year work permits, which can be renewed annually. Generally, Canadian
citizens may apply for TN admission directly at a Class A, US Port of
Entry or at a USCIS (formerly INS) preclearance/pre-flight station.

E1 Treaty Trader
Treaty traders and their employees may apply for visas to carry on substantial
trade between the US and their home country, if their country of citizenship
has the required treaty with the US.

E2 Treaty Investor
Investors who invest in a substantial amount of capital in a US enterprise,
and who will develop and direct the enterprise, may apply for a visa if
their country of citizenship has the required treaty with the US.

B1 Visitor for Business
B1 business visitor visas are for brief visits and do not permit employment
in the U.S. Nationals of some countries are permitted to visit the US
for up to 90 days without a visa under the visa waiver program.

J1 Exchange Visitor
The J1 Visa is designed for exchange visitors who have been included in
an approved program. This category includes certain business trainees,
students, medical residents, professors and research scholars, specialists,
government visitors, camp counselors, and au pairs. Some J1 programs require
that the exchange visitor satisfy a two-year foreign residence requirement
before they may obtain a new nonimmigrant visa or apply for the Green
Card.

O1 Extraordinary Ability
The O1 category is designed for foreign nationals who have extraordinary
ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics, which
has been demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim.

P1 Athletes, Artists and Entertainers
Foreign nationals whose work involves international recognition, participation in a reciprocal exchange program, or a culturally unique performance or production, may apply for a visa in this category.

F1 Students
The F1 visa is a student visa that enables foreign nationals to study
in the US at accredited academic institutions. In some cases, F1 students
may work while enrolled in school. Prior to or upon graduation, the student
may engage in practical training for up to 12 months.

K1 Fiancee Visa
A fiancee of a US citizen may apply for a K1 visa, which allows
US entry for 90 days. Within that 90 day period, the US and the foreign
fiancee must be married. The foreign fiancee must then apply for permanent
resident status.

K3 Marriage Visa
The K3 visa for spouse of a US citizen was created to reduce the separation
between a US citizen and his or her foreign spouse while waiting abroad
for an immigrant visa. The K3 visa allows the foreign spouse to enter
the United States as nonimmigrants, re-unite with his or her family in
the USA, and then apply for permanent resident status (Green Card) while
in the United States.
